Under Wraps (for now)

I started this blog to feel out the audience for my new book and get feedback. What writer doesn’t love feedback? Since posting the first few chapters, two issues have been unveiled. One: Sharing an unpublished ms on a blog could be a deal breaker for a commercial publisher, as pointed out by Angie Ledbetter. Two: I’m now embarking on a complete rewrite, which leaves what has been posted so far as possibly irrelevant and totally unfinished. Almost as if my ms has its’ pants down.

So, in conclusion I apologize to those of you that may have been following the story. I will continue to post though- of my experiences with the writing and publishing and of daily thoughts, complaints, jokes and horror stories.

  1. I think you've made a wise decision! And good luck with the revisions. Rowing that boat right now. Ug. :)

  2. Angie's probably right. Definitely keep things under wraps. If you want to send out "teasers" then check out the blogs of other published authors to see how they do it. Or do what Tess Gerritsen does, which is talk about the process (she's an open book and a wonderful person).

Good luck with the rewrite. We're here when you need us. :)

  5. I am impressed with anyone who can write a book. The blog is perfect for me. Just a few random funny thoughts to share. To make a composed thought long enough for a book would be impossible! Excellent.

  6. Keep writing and we'll see it once it's published. I have enjoyed what I've read of your story.
